Spindle Law Interviews: Arthur Bryant

Arthur Bryant of Public JusticeArthur H. Bryant is the Executive Director of Public Justice, a national public interest law firm supported by—and able to call on and work with—over 3,000 of the top plaintiffs’ lawyers in America. He has won major victories and established new precedents in several areas of the law, including constitutional law, toxic torts, civil rights, consumer protection, and mass torts. The National Law Journal has twice named him one of the 100 Most Influential Attorneys in America.

Arthur is a graduate of Swarthmore College and Harvard Law School.  After serving as a law clerk to U.S. District Court Judge Gabrielle M. McDonald, he worked as an associate at the Philadelphia law firm of Kohn, Savett, Marion & Graf (now Kohn, Swift & Graf, P.C.), handling First Amendment, civil rights, and complex civil litigation. Spindle Law Interviews: Martha Minow

Martha Minow has been Dean of the Harvard Law School since 2009 and a professor there since 1981. An expert in human rights and advocacy for members of racial and religious minorities and for women, children, and persons with disabilities, she also writes and teaches about privatization, military justice, and ethnic and religious conflict.

Dean Minow serves as Vice Chair of the board of the Legal Services Corporation, a bi-partisan, government-sponsored organization that provides civil legal assistance to low-income Americans. She also serves on boards for the Revson Foundation, the Bazelon Center for Mental Health Law, the Covenant Foundation, Facing History and Ourselves, and other nonprofit organizations. She is a former member of the board of the Iranian Human Rights Documentation Center.  She has been a fellow of the American Academy of Arts & Sciences since 1992. Read the rest of this entry »

Dredge & Fill

Spindle Law now offers very thorough coverage of the extensively litigated dredge and fill regulation under the Clean Water Act.  Created and overseen by chief editor Professor Marcia Gelpe, with a good deal of suport from Kit Donnelly, it should be a great benefit to the many lawyers faced with questions on the dredge and fill provisions, as well as to lawyers involved in actions brought under this part of the statute.  Like the material on the Clean Air Act, it gives the practicing lawyer an excellent way of seeing how the statute is constructed and the issues that have arisen under it in litigation, as well as an easy tool for finding case law relevant to the issues.  Take a look.
